Admission Requirements

Baccalauréat en Éducation consécutif (16 months)

  • Have an undergraduate degree of at least three years (minimum 90 credits or equivalent) from a Canadian university or college, or a post-secondary diploma deemed equivalent.
  • Have an average of 70 % (cumulative grade point average of 3.0 of 4.3) calculated based on:
    • 60 credits out of the 90 credits in the general program, distributed as follows:
      • twenty (20) best undergraduate semester courses; or
      • ten (10) best undergraduate annual courses; or
      • any other equivalent combination.
  • Submit a candidate profile (95 KB) ;
  • Successfully complete an interview in French.

Additional requirements for the intermediate-junior stream:

  • Have successfully completed 18 credits in a recognized teachable subject for one of the teaching methods in the B.Ed. program (Business and Commerce-General, Geography, History, Mathematics, or Media).

Additional requirements for the intermediate-senior stream:

  • Have successfully completed 30 credits in a first teachable subject at the advanced level for one of the teaching methods in the B.Ed. program (Business and Commerce, Geography, History, Social Science, Mathematics)
  • Have successfully completed 12 credits in a second teachable subject other than the first for one of the teaching methods in the B.Ed. program (Business and Commerce, Geography, History, Mathematics, Media)

At the beginning of the semester during which the first placement will take place, the student must submit proof from the police that they do not have a criminal record (including a check for the vulnerable sector, i.e., children).

Please note that the following are not considered undergraduate degrees:  a state diploma issued by an institution not authorized to award university degrees; a so-called “university-level” diploma awarded by an institution not authorized to award a recognized university degree; a second or third cycle diploma; BT, BTS, DEUG, DUEL, DUES, DUT, DST, Graduate, Third Graduate  (non-exhaustive list).

Baccalauréat en Éducation accéléré (B.A. and B.Ed. - 150 credits)

Ontario Students:

  • Have successfully completed at least six (6) 4U or 4M courses with a minimum average of 70% (U: Pre-university; M: Pre-university/Pre-collegial);
  • Have obtained a minium grade of 70 % in the following prerequisites:
    • FRA4U or FIF4U
  • Have studied for a minimum of three (3) years in a secondary school where French is the primary language of instruction
  • Business and Commerce specialization:
    • Two (2) courses (minium grade of 70%) among: MCV4U, MHF4U, MDM4U, BOH4M, BAT4M, BBB4M
  • Canadian and Global Studies specialization:
    • One (1) course (minium grade of 70%) among: CGU4M, CGU4M, CGR4M, CGW4U, CGO4M, CHI4U, CHY4U, CHF4U, CLN4U, CPW4U
  • Social Sciences specialization:
    • One (1) course (minium grade of 70%) among: HSC4M, HSE4M, HHS4U, HHG4M, HZT4U, HSB4U
  • Mathematics specialization:
    • Two (2) courses (minium grade of 70%) among: MCV4U, MHF4U, MDM4U
  • For the Baccalauréat en Éducation accéléré program, you will have to successfully complete a written exam in the fall semester of your third year in order to be eligible for your placement.

Ontario Students - International Baccalaureate (IB)/ Advanced Placement (AP)/ General Certificate of Education (GCE)

In addition to  the courses complete in a recognized postsecondary institution, l'Université de l'Ontario français also grants credit transfers and equivalencies for courses taken in the following secondary school programs: 

  • Advanced Placement (AP): A minimum score of 4 on the College Board exam is required for the course to be considered for credit.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB): A minimum grade of 5 in a higher-level course is required for the course to be considered for equivalency.
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE) – A Levels: A minimum grade of B on the exam in an A-level course is required for the course to be considered for equivalency. 

Graduates from another Canadian province (except Quebec):

  • Have obtained a high school diploma certified by the offical governing body of the Canadian province where the studies were completed;
  • Have successfully completed pre-requisite courses for university studies in this province, with an average grade of 70% in these courses;
  • Have achieved a grade of 70% in Grade 12 French;
  • Have attending a minimum of three (3) years at a French-first language secondary school

Graduates from the CEGEP program:

  • Have completed at least one year of CEGEP with at least 12 semester-long pre-university courses from a Diploma of College Studies (Diplôme d'études collégiales - DEC)/pre-university program, including the program prerequisites;
  • Have achieved a college grade point average (CGPA) of 24;
  • Have achieved a grade of 70% in the CEGEP French courses;
  • Second-year CEGEP courses may be evaluated for equivalencies (minimum passing grade of 65% required);
  • Have attending a minimum of three (3) years at a French-first language institution

Transfer Students from another postsecondary institution in Canada (except the CEGEP):

  • If you have completed the equivalent of one year (24 credits) of postsecondary education, your application will be evaluated on that basis. For university courses, a cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.0 or equivalent is required. The Registrar's Office will determine whether the credits earned can be transferred to the UOF. To be admitted to a UOF program from a similar program at another university, you must submit a general application for admission using the OUAC procedure. The Registrar's Office will review the application and follow up.

Baccalauréat en Administration des affaires (B. A. A.)

Ontario Students:

  • Have successfully completed at least six (6) 4U or 4M courses with a minimum average of 70% (U: Pre-university; M: Pre-university/Pre-collegial);
  • Have obtained a minium grade of 70 % in the following prerequisites:
    • french: FRA4U, FIF4U, or FEF4U
    • Calculus and Vectors: MCV4U
    • Advanced Functions: MHF4U
  • Have attending a minimum of three (3) years at a French-first language secondary school

Ontario Students - International Baccalaureate (IB)/ Advanced Placement (AP)/ General Certificate of Education (GCE)

Baccalauréat en Communications et médias numériques, Économie et innovation sociale, Environnements urbains, Pluralité humaine et Santé mentale

Language Requirements

  • Have studied for a minimum of three (3) years in a secondary school where French is the primary language of instruction and language skills are certified by a recognized standard.
  • Have passed a test demonstrating the ability to study in French:
    • Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) with a level B2 (minimum of 70 out of 100);
    • Test de français international (TFI) with a score of 700 or more (out of 990); and other international tests recognized by the UOF;
      • the Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) with a score of 600 or (out of 900); or
      • the Test de connaissance du français (TCF) with a score of 450 or more (out of 699).
